What a security professional does
Security guards, access control staff and support personnel for events, building sites, shops and residential buildings. In private security there is a clear line: guarding duties can only be carried out by a licensed security guard working through an authorised security company.
Most requested jobs for a security professional
Access control at events
Checking tickets, managing capacity and guiding the public at concerts, trade fairs and private events.
Guarding building sites and warehouses
Night-time or weekend presence at building sites, warehouses and vacant plots.
Service assistants
Reception, check rounds and support in residential buildings and shops, without guarding duties.
Seasonal reinforcement
Sales, the Christmas season or one-off events in shops.
Emergency: what to do until the security professional arrives
Before agreeing anything, be clear whether what you need is guarding — in which case it must be provided by a guard with a TIP (Spanish professional ID card) through an authorised security company — or access control and customer service, which assistants can cover. Give the hours, the location, the number of people and whether a uniform or specific training is required.
